Damla specialises in international construction dispute resolution and has experience working on large-scale energy, infrastructure and commercial projects, providing advice in the run-up to and after the commencement of dispute resolution process.
Damla advises clients on disputes arising under most standard forms of contract, and has experience representing clients under the ICC, SIAC and SCC rules. In addition to her commercial arbitration experience, she regularly assists clients in investment treaty arbitrations brought under the ICSID, UNCITRAL and ICC rules.
Her recent experience in the energy sector includes representing a Turkish EPC Contractor in two arbitral proceedings arising from a 40MW solar power plant located in Turkey and advising an EPC Contractor in relation to a dispute with their JV partner for the construction of a 2,000MW combined cycle power plant in Saudi Arabia.
Damla has an MSc degree on Construction Law and Disputes Resolution from King’s College London. She is a fellow to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
